Doris Self was the World Record holder of Q*bert in 1983 with a World Record of 1,112,300 points on Q*bert and had reached this fame at the age of 58.
In the Summer of 2005, Doris Self competed at the Classic Gaming Expo in London, on the Q*Bert title, but did not break the standing world record.
Doris Self was also the first female Easter Airlines flight attendant at age 19, and was one of the founders of the ‘The Silver Liners,’ in 1954.
In her retirement she was very active with her poker club and bridge club as well as playing Q*bert 5 days a week in order to achieve her personal best.

Doris Self never did get a new Q*bert World Record after 1983, yet was made the oldest gamer and made the Matriarch of the video game world in 2007.
CGEUK was the last event International Event that Doris Self competed in,
representing the USA.
Her Q*bert game will be outfitted with a special memorial plaque created by the Twin Galaxies Intergalactic Scoreboard, that will identify the game as Doris' Q*Bert machine, commemorating its role in video game history.
