One rather different entry in the fully programmable field is the Optim Majestic Model EG1001 (Fig. 11.11) video programmable system since this has a recommended price of only £ 74.95, considerably cheaper than most others. The majestic is microprocessor (Motorolla) controlled with two joystick hand controllers and there are currently 12 cartridges available (£ 12.95 each) with more on the way: targets, grand prix, math quiz, Kung Fu, strategy, chemin-defer, blackjack, codemaster, warp-around, checkers, chinese slot machines, and word games. Although the Optim Majestic is obviously good value for money, it should be pointed out that some of the games do not have as many different options as the more expensive games. For instance blackjack requires two players, whereas most other games provide an alternative single player game - but then you pay your money and take your choice!
